Pseudocysts of the pancreas are collections containing pancreatic fluid or debris, often resulting from acute or chronic pancreatitis, trauma, or pancreatic duct obstruction. This article explores their definition, natural history, diagnostic methods, treatment modalities, and anatomical pathology. It differentiates them from neoplastic cysts and discusses their extra-parenchymal and intra-parenchymal locations. The evolution of pseudocysts determines the therapeutic approach, which may involve surgical, endoscopic, or radiological interventions.
