Research results & Problem Inneficient public enterprises management Managers are appointed solely on the basis of party affiliation Citizens are not satisfied with the quality of services provided by public enterprises Lack of transparency, control & responsibility Public enterprises perceived like they belong to the ruling parties, not as a public good
Potential solution & Recommendations Giving a greater importance to the public audit process, primarily by the competent parliaments Raising more awareness about the problem Engaging all relevant actors (citizens, media, NGOs) in making pressure towards public enterprises to be more efficient and responsible
