Each group will be given a section and will present to the class their findings. Thurs-Fri, December 8-9, 2016 Senior English Journal No journal today! Individual Activity Each student will be given a short story to assess. Please refer to the following rubric: Group Activity Share findings with others in small groups and revise/edit your findings. Holistic Scoring: 4 Short story is interesting and effectively utilizes conventions, proper grammar and all vocabulary words in context. The paper describes an escapade and has the elements of an anecdotal story with plot and character development. 3 This paper demonstrates an ability to tell a witty story and uses most of the vocabulary words in context. There are few grammatical or convention errors. 2 There is some development of a story, but it falls flat in achieving a purpose. About half of the vocabulary words are used and some are used incorrectly. Conventions are missing or improperly used. The fluency and meaning of the author is confusing, perhaps disjointed. 1 This paper is a minimal effort paper. There is very little evidence of work ethic or time spent in developing a story. A few of the vocabulary words are used, and mostly incorrectly. In colored pen, assess a grade and give detailed feedback of your findings. We will practice on one paper together.
