I. WHAT WE ONCE WERE 11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called uncircumcised by those who call themselves the circumcision (that done in the body by the hands of men) 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. (Eph 2.11-12)

II. HOW GOD TURNED IT AROUND 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. (Eph 2.13-15a)

III. OUTCOME OF GODS INTERVENTION 15b His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. (Eph 2.15b-16)
RESULT # 1: MESSAGE OF PEACE 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Ephesians 2.17-18 What does peace mean? Answer: (a) It means forgiveness ; (b) end of strife and hostility (v 14, 16)
RESULT # 2: NEW COMMUNITY IS BORN! 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow-citizens with God s people and members of God s household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
INSIGHT! SYFC ministry is not programs, but people. SYFC ministry is not events, but encounters. SYFC legacy is not rituals, but relationships. SYFC legacy is not traditions, but transformed lives. It s the place where God is proud to call home . Are we ready to welcome him? Will he feel at home when he steps in? Is our relationships marked by forgiveness, harmony, and unity? Or will he find broken relationships instead of reconciled people?
FINAL REMINDERS Whether Jews of Gentiles, saints or sinners, we have all been reconciled into one new body; after which as one body we are reconciled with God to become his church, his holy people, a people who embrace peace and unity. May we live in such ways that our Father through his Spirit is please to dwell in our midst!
DISCUSS & SHARE IN SMALL GROUPS Is there a bridge of reconciliation that God needs to build in my life today? Is the community of SYFC one where the whole building is joined together to become a holy temple in the Lord (v 21)? How do we ensure that the ministry of SYFC is not about programs but people; not about events, but encounters; not about rituals, but relationships; and not about traditions, but transformed lives?
