  1. Adorning Body and Soul

  2. Inner change results in outward change Adornment in modest apparel reflects changes within as indicated by three words in 1 Timothy 2:9-10. Godliness devotion to God Propriety a sense of what is proper and of what is improper or shameful (cf. Jeremiah 8:12) Moderation sensible, using sound judgment. Modest is an adjective that modifies apparel (cf. 1 Timothy 3:2). Inner adornment is reflected in outer adornment! (1 Peter 3:3-4).

  3. Adornment must not conform to the world We no longer try to comply with the world s expectations for us (1 Peter 4:2-4). The fashion of the world is often designed to attract attention to self (1 John 2:15-16). To be transformed, we must have within us the Lord s views on modesty and the shame of publicly exposing certain parts of the body (Exodus 28:42; Isaiah 47:2-3; Revelation 16:15; 3:18; 1 Cor. 12:23).

  4. 1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
