By Bella Regions A region is an area with common features that set it apart from other areas. The five regions are Northeast,Southeast,Southwest,West,Midwest. New Jerseys regions are the Atlantic Costal Plain, Peidmont, Highlands, and Ridge and Valley.
Northeast We live in this region. The Appalachian Mountains run through most of the states in this region. There are four seasons in this regions Winter,Spring,Summer,Fall The Costal Plains are in this region. They are a flat lowland along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
Southeast There is a large area so wetlands swamps, marshes, and bayous- Everglades. Davis Bayou- marshy slow moring stream. Crisscrossed with rivers. Warm all year.
Middle-West A Central Plain- in the east, low elevation, produces corn. Produces corn and wheat. Great Plains- in the west, cold winters, hot summers, produces wheat. Made of the Interior Plain.
South west One of the most famous landforms in this region is the Grand Canyon. Mostly made up of high plateaus, plains and deserts. The Rocky Mountains appear in this region as well as the West. This region shares the Great Plains
West The redwood trees that grow in Oregon and California are the tallest trees in the world. The Great Basin is in this region. Landforms include mountains, plateaus, and valleys
Northeast Southeast Southwest Middle west West
Atlantic Costal Plain We live in this region. Largest region-covers more than half of NJ. Home to the pindlands.
Piedmont NJs greatest population borders NY City Located at foothills. Palisades forms the eastern border. Fall line separates this region from the ACP.
Highlands Most of NJs lakes are found here. The town of Franklin is known for its glowing rocks.
Ridge and Valley Home to the Delaware Water Gap and high point state park. Dairy farming is an important business. Appellation Mountains runs through this region.
