RESTRICTIONS ON WORKING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE Finnish National Agency for Education 20/03/2025
A worker aged under 14 years Work must mainly be performed between 6.00 and 20.00. Overtime is prohibited. Only temporary work that is of a short duration can be done during the school year. During holidays, it is permitted to work 7 hours per day 35 hours per week at most half of the holiday. Finnish National Agency for Education 20/03/2025
A young worker aged 1517 years A young worker aged 15 17 is permitted to work at most 9 hours per day and 48 hours per week Work must mainly be performed between 6.00 and 20.00. Overtime must not exceed 80 hours per year. Finnish National Agency for Education 20/03/2025
The work must not harm the young person's development, health or education. Work entirely prohibited from young people includes Prohibite d work NIGHT-TIMEWORK DIVING SLAUGHTERING HANDLINGANDTRANSPORTOFDECEASED PERSONS selling alcohol and tobacco (a 16-year-old can sell alcohol and tobacco when supervised).
