REPRESENTING CHRIST THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA A friendly reminder to think about who you are, who you represent, and who is watching.
1 TIMOTHY 4:12 Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an exampleof those who believe.
REMEMBERING WHO YOU ARE Respect yourself in all that you say and do. You are responsible for what you post (even if it s anonymous). It s not about looking like a Christian it sabout being authentic in your beliefs.
KEEP IN MIND.. Remember who is following you and who your friends are. Just because someone doesn t respond doesn t mean something is not seen. Joking around and sarcasm are different when you aren t face to face.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: BE SAFE It may seem obvious, but . Anything you post on any sort of social media has the potential to be there forever. Keep personal information personal. Respond (don t react) to mean or rude texts, messages or e-mails. Take your time in responding, but it s also okay to not write back. It s absolutely okay to delete unwanted messages that appear on your page. It s okay to unfriend someone who continuously bothers you or post things that are not appropriate on your page. Check and use the privacy settings of social networking sites. If anything that happens online ever feels uncomfortable NEVER hesitate to tell someone about it.
