Background For inter-band EN-DC combinations with overlapping DL, e.g. DC_42-n77, the requirements in the current 38.101-3 are according to those for intra-band EN-DC The 38.306 Rel-16 contains a new capability for indication of support of inter-band EN-DC requirements for FDD-FDD and TDD-TDD combinations with overlapping DL e.g. for support DC_42-n77 with non-collocation and inter-band EN-DC performance How to facilitate implementation of UEs supporting the said capability (Type 2)? Relevant RF requirements to ensure performance of Type 2 UEs in a non-collocated scenario?
WF for faciliating Type 2 implementation RAN4 to consider Waiving requirements on the applicability of 2Rx/4Rx requirements for UE implementations with separate RX chains e.g. for TDD-TDD: for UEs indicating interBandMRDC-WithOverlapDL-Bands- r16: the requirements for each cell group shall be according to the SA requirements defined for two RX antennas for all DL bands above [2490] MHz (i.e. the requirements for four Rx ports do not apply when the UE is configured with EN-DC) for FDD-FDD a similar provisions could be considered (FFS) Other provisions not precluded
WF on RF requirements for Type 2 relevant for a non-collocated scenario Scenario for which the current intra-band EN-DC requirements do not ensure RF performance RAN4 to consider requirements to ensure performance with larger received power differences (than 6 dB for Type 1) between cell groups e.g. a provision that the minimum requirements apply for an input power of the anchor signal up to [30 dB] greater than the input power of the wanted NR except for the minimum requirement on the maximum input power (consistent with ACS requirements)
WF on release RAN4 to specify RF requirements for Type 2 UEs in the Rel-16 version of 38.101-3 in accordance with the 38.306
