IW 2020 Presentation and Discussion Approaches Several topic ideas for IW2020 presentations were provided from RWG members. Hosted presentations will be led by a presenter sharing a topic, and will allow input to presenter on ideas shared. Open Discussions will be facilitated by the RWG chairs to address a theme using a series of questions. These will be more open, and are intended to encourage idea exchange. Key insights from RWG IW 2019 sessions IW2019 focused on MBSE topics for requirement efforts, and generated several insights which are highlighted here, and explored further in the development of the RWG Guides that are occurring. 1. The concept of duality as applied to requirements and models. 2. Requirements don t just happen they are a transformation from a set of needs, that was transformed from a set of concepts that address a feasible solution to a problem. 3. The quality of the requirements is directly proportional to the quality of the set of stakeholder needs from which they were transformed. 4. 20thcentury SE methods and practices are often not adequate to address the challenges of increasingly complex, software centric systems of the 21st century! 13 March 14, 2025
