Student Learning Research Questions Over the Kindergarten year, will students in Wolf Trap classrooms make significantly greater gains than students in control classrooms on standardized measures of English language acquisition? Will they show greater gains in English story writing? Will they show greater academic achievement more generally? Measures ELL placement test (WAPT-L/S) Summer before kindergarten Woodcock-Mu oz (WMLS-R) Oral Expression and Listening Clusters Administered in both English and Spanish Pre (Sept/Oct) and Post (April/May) English Proficiency Test (ACCESS for ELLs) January/February Experimenter Designed English Story Writing Task Pre (Sept/Oct) and Post (April/May) GKIDS

Data Analyses of Student Learning Three School Years, 2009-2012 Randomly Selected ELL (Latino)K Students 514 (186 in the treatment condition; 253 girls; age M = 66.9 months, SD=4.4) End of Kindergarten Year Performance Controlled for Age and Skills at Entry Significance Testing: Treatment Received All three years of professional learning (N=12 teachers) Control group (N=31 teachers)
