Resetting Passwords As of December 10, 2020, requests to reset passwords should no longer be sent to the OAE Helpdesk. Passwords need to be reset locally. Please communicate this change to your staff members.
Who can reset passwords? Students Instructors Sub-admins

Students and Instructors Both of these user groups can change their passwords using the Forgot Password feature built into Blackboard.
Keep in mind If a student attempts to log in with the wrong password five times, they will be locked out of their account for two hours. After two hours, the account will unlock and the student can try again or select Forgot Password. To keep accounts from locking: Let students know to contact their instructor if they are having trouble after three attempts.
How Sub-Admins can change anyones password OAE has created a new handout that gives step-by-step instructions for Sub-Admins. A walkthrough of how to reset a password is located in the Sub-Admin Users video (http://bit.ly/SubAdminUsers) starting at time stamp 2:30.

How to request a Sub-Admin account Only Program Administrators can request Sub- Admin accounts for their program. Submit the person s full name and email address to oaehelpdesk@tcsg.edu.

Blackboard Account Request form Retires on December 10, 2020 All Blackboard accounts are created through GALIS. Special Requests can be submitted through the helpdesk.
Blackboard Helpdesk Contact First, try to resolve technical assistance issues locally. Sub-Admins are the first line of help. Send requests and unresolved issues to: oaehelpdesk@tcsg.edu Keep in mind that due to high demand, it can take up to 10 business days to complete requests. Send in all requests as soon as possible. That includes: Helpdesk tickets, master class requests, student class requests, etc.
Blackboard Student Classes ests. All requests for the creation of any student class (content or collaborate only) with a start date between January 1-15, 2021 need to be submitted no later than Friday, December 11, 2020.
Adding Content to Bb Collaborate Only Classes Each program can send up to 10 people, but only if they have experience accessing Bb and creating/hosting sessions in Collaborate. Make sure you send your Blackboard experts who will need to provide local training and technical assistance. Its GO Time Sessions in 2021 Sessions will resume on January 7, 2021. Sessions will be every other Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm. (1/7, 1/21, 2/4, 2/18, 3/4, 3/18) We will reassess need at the end of March. Sessions will continue to be recorded and posted.
