NJHS 2018-19
NJHS Meeting Dates Take a copy of meeting dates. Write these dates in your agenda. Yellow half sheet of paper *Members must make arrangements to attend either the morning or afternoon meeting on the days indicated. General membership meetings are held in room 905, at 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted above. Please be on time for meetings. Committee meetings will be announced throughout the year. All members must be signed up for at least one committee and attend committee meetings as scheduled. Members must get any missed meeting pre- approved by Ms. Sodoma prior to the meeting date unless ill.
NJHS Volunteer Requirements 20 hours in total 5 hours per quarter = 10 hours per semester
NJHS Volunteer Requirements Ways to earn hours: 1. Volunteer for an organization Church, foodbank, Save Our Starving Children Letter head noting the date, amount of hours and tasks completed, must include contact information (email & phone number) 2. Volunteer to help an individual They can not be related to you Letter noting the dthe date, amount of hours and tasks completed, must include contact information (email & phone number)
NJHS President -Leads membership meetings. Oversees committees. Plans and oversees activities. Leads officers and society. Attend and run officers meetings once a month. Oversees recycling program. Attend and participate in Induction Ceremony at end of year.
NJHS Vice-President -Assists president with duties. Keeps attendance records at meetings. Attends officer meetings once a month. Oversees Community Service Hour Commitments Coordinator of Committees Keep record of projects delegated to committees. Keep list of each committee s time-line. Participate in Induction Ceremony.
NJHS Treasurer Informs membership of financial situation. Assists in collection of money and paperwork. Keeps record of membership volunteer hours. Informs V.P. and Adviser of members delinquent in community service hours. Attends officers meetings once a month. Participate in Induction Ceremony.
NJHS Secretary Attend all meetings, a.m. & p.m. Write Meeting Minutes at both meetings, submit to adviser within one week. Write Thank-You cards when needed. Assemble NJHS Membership directory. Attend officers meetings once a month. Participate in Induction Ceremony at end of year.
Accept Nominations The floor is now open to accept nominations for President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Nominees will prepare a brief speech (approx. 2 min.) informing membership of qualities and motivation to be an NJHS officer. Speeches will be made at August 31stmeeting. Voting follows.
NJHS Recycling 2018-2019 Responsible for recycling paper and bottles on campus. Media Crew-We need public service announcements made on morning announcements to model good recycling habits, no caps, no fluid in bottles, etc. We have 2 teams this year - Red and White. Recycling will rotate in the morning BEFORE school. (More information to come 2ndmeeting.)
