  1. Club Chair & EH Liaison What will I be responsible for? All members of Stone Hockey Club, SHC figurehead within the Community and for all external and internal groups. Custodian of the SHC Development Plan. What is my role? Timetable committee meetings for year (liaise with committee regarding most suitable dates) Chair committee meetings Arrange AGM date Ensure relevant O.H.A. meetings are attended, and reports received by main committee Ensure all club sections are performing liaise regularly with section chairs Ensure all others on the committee carry out their respective responsibilities Represent the Club as necessary on any committees or at any meeting Ensure smooth running of the Facility and Hockey Club, pro-actively addressing any issues that might arise. Work to recruit, recognise, reward and retain those who volunteer for and on behalf of the club Provide access to coach, official, volunteer opportunities for club members Develop, maintain and take responsibility for driving forward the Club Development Plan (CDP) , including timetabling, allocating roles & responsibilities and monitoring progress Creation and approval of annual club budget for all sections in conjunction with Treasurer and all Committee Interested in applying?   2. Vice Chair & Head of Hockey What will I be responsible for? All members of Stone Hockey Club, SHC figurehead within the Community and for all external and internal groups. What is my role? Deputise as required for the Club Chair Develop strong links with the club captain and team captains to form a tight working unit to help drive the club forward in a dynamic way to reach all their hockey playing development targets Drive and lead the Club Development Plan regarding on-pitch deliverables for the development of men s, ladies and junior hockey to ensure we offer a balance of opportunities at both elite and social levels Evaluate and monitor progress against the CDP objectives Build and lead a culture of both excellence and participation throughout all sections of the hockey club Champion the men s and ladies elite teams pursuit of excellence by supporting and facilitating recruitment, selection and coaching Support Umpire Development Officer to ensure delivery of programmes to ensure Stone HC has a sustainable pool of accredited umpires. Lead and support section Club Captains to actively recruit and develop a sustainable pool of accredited coaches at all sections. Pro-actively oversee transition of Youth players into Senior sides Support the team Captains and managers by providing clear communication and maintaining relationships, ensuring any issues and concerns are resolved.   3. Mens & Ladies Club Captain What am I responsible for? In this role you are the main representative for the members with your section, you will chair weekly player selection as well as drive the development of your respective section alongside the Director of Hockey, acting as a voice of the Membership in regards to any playing or non-playing issues which may arise. What is my role? The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the club provides all members with opportunity to play in leagues and cup competitions. The Captain is responsible for ensuring the requirements of the whole playing membership within their section are receiving the coaching, training and game playing opportunities as set out within the CDP and SHC Constitution. Coordinate and arrange friendly fixtures for respective clubs as required during non- league playing periods. The Captain shall agree with Head of Hockey on appointments for Individual Team Managers and coaches. Selection disputes by individual team Captains shall be settled by the Club Captain Engage with the assigned Disciplinary panel on all player related issues Ensure each team has required First Aid equipment and Qualified First Aider Ensure each team has available training equipment (e.g. provision of match, training balls) Drive and promote Social activities for respective sections and the whole club.   4. Club Treasurer What will I be responsible for? Financial steward, ensuring all income and expenditure is collected / paid respectively and advise on club investment in line with SHC CDP. What is my role? Creation and approval of annual club budget for all sections in conjunction with Chairman Validating subscriptions receipts and collecting all money due to the organisation Paying the bills and recording information Affiliating the club to the County Hockey Association and England Hockey Affiliating the club to the league(s) and working with the Secretary to register players Keeping up date records of all financial transactions Ensuring that all cash and cheques are promptly deposited in the bank Ensuring that funds are spent properly Issuing receipts for all money received and recording this information Reporting regularly to the committee on the financial position Preparing a year end statement of accounts to present to the Auditors Arranging for the statement of accounts to be audited Presenting an end of year financial report to the AGM Financial planning including producing an annual budget Helping to prepare and submit any statutory documents that are required (e.g. VAT returns, PAYE and NI returns, grant aid reports) Even if these duties are delegated to a professional officer, the Treasurer is still ultimately responsible.   5. Club Secretary What will I be responsible for? Gathering; compilation and distribution of club / hockey information What is my role? The Club Secretary should provide the main point of contact for people within and outside the club on just about every aspect of the club s activities. To be the principal administrator for the club To carry out or delegate all of the administrative duties thereby enabling the club and its members to function effectively To work alongside the treasurer to see that all affiliation/registration documents are accurate and are paid on time To ensure that all members have access to club documentation, insurance details and officers contacts Attend the Committee meetings and AGM. Attending county and league meetings (as appropriate) Dealing with correspondence Organising the club AGM and other club meetings Representing the club at outside meetings at the direction of the main committee Interested in applying?   6. Umpire Coordinator What am I responsible for? In this role you are tasked with driving umpiring engagement and support within the total club and to represent them to the Committee. Ensuring their needs are met and development is enabled. What is my role? Ensure enough accredited umpires are available to support the club needs and to identify future requirements to the Director of Hockey. Allocate club umpires to support all fixtures within the club on a weekly basis. Coordinate and organise mentoring for Junior and Developing Umpires Establish an Umpire Development Pathway for all Umpires to achieve their desired umpiring goals. Interested in applying?   7. Marketing and Communications Officer What am I responsible for? Oversee and update the official Stone Hockey Club Website and other Social Media platforms, ensuring content is up to date, relevant and within club branding guidelines as directed by Marketing & Sponsorship Officer. What is my role? Create volunteer sub-committee to update and manage Social media platforms To update and improve the club s website and Social Media platforms by liaising with the necessary personnel from with the club Govern and control user access rights to all SHC official social media platforms Ensure season s fixtures and pitches are on website Update fixtures, results and upload match reports when received Identify all appropriate club news and add to website and other Social Media platforms Provide easy access to members to allow content sharing across our platforms.   8. Safeguarding & First Aid Officer What am I responsible for? This role is responsible for ensuring SHC fulfils its responsibilities to safeguard children and young people. You will be the first point of contact for staff, volunteers, parents and children/young people where concerns about children s welfare, poor practice or child abuse are identified. What is my role? Creating and implementing the Club Welfare policy and disseminating across all members. Ensure provision of effective 1st Aid requirements by trained 1st aiders following standard processes. Implement and govern the child welfare implementation plan, overseeing the Junior Welfare Officer. Be the first point of contact with the England Hockey s Child Welfare Officer. Implement England Hockey s reporting and recording procedures. Ensure all those who need to undergo DBS checks do Maintain contact details for local social services, police and the Area Child Protection Committee. Promote England Hockey s best practice guidance/code of ethics & behaviour within the club and anti-discriminatory practice. Organise first aid courses for those deemed appropriate Ensure confidentiality is maintained Promote anti-discriminatory practice Interested in applying?   9. Membership Secretary What will I responsible for? Ensuring up to date membership information, contact details including any requirements as set forth by Club Safeguarding Officer. What is my role? Ensure collection of annual subscriptions, maintaining records of those paid (including addresses etc), and providing regular updates to committee, and Captains. Advise Captains of all paid members contact details including emergency contact details Advise Committee and Cub Captains of any unpaid members so appropriate action can be taken in line with constitution Undertake England Hockey annual affiliation process Manage exception requests for Membership subscriptions, e.g. Family discount Interested in applying?   10. H&S Officer What am I responsible for? Ensuring the site has effective policies in place to ensure the physical safety of all members and site visitors. What is my role? Liaise with Safeguarding Officers to ensure provision of effective 1st Aid requirements by trained 1st aiders following standard processes.   11. Head of Grounds What will I responsible for? All external site, grass pitch and AstroTurf maintenance to ensure playing surfaces support club hockey and external booking requirement What is my role? Manage volunteer and 3rd party contractors providing grounds maintenance services (including) Astroturf surface maintenance Astroturf ancillary equipment (dug-outs, spectator areas, goals) Grass pitch cutting Car park surface External drainage General site maintenance Obtain quotations for ground improvements as required Interested in applying?   12. Head of House & Bar What will I responsible for? Maintaining all internal clubhouse, changing room, bar and kitchen areas in a fit for use standard. What is my role? Manage volunteer and 3rd party contractors providing internal clubhouse maintenance services, food and drink services. Primary point of contact for all concerns or issues regarding clubhouse structural / amenity concerns Maintain EHS guidelines and regulatory requirements related to clubhouse maintenance Manager of all bar & kitchen staff employed by SHC Ensure bar is stocked to deliver services required during playing season periods and for Social functions. Maintain SHC relevant government permits (e.g. Alcohol Premises License) Maintain EHS guidelines and regulatory requirements related to kitchen and bar. In conjunction with Team captains ensure post-match tea provision for opposition is coordinated for all League Hockey fixtures. Interested in applying?   13. Facility Hire Manager What will I responsible for? Coordination of pitch (AstroTurf and Grass) on site, receive and process booking requests from internal or external sources ensuring required insurance requirements are met and necessary payments are instigated through Club Treasurer. Liaise with Bar and Grounds Managers to ensure booking requirements can be adhered to. What is my role? Gather details of all SHC home fixtures Gather requirements for training sessions during season and block book Establish dates upon which pitches are surplus to requirements or needed and advise Treasurer of bookings made. Publish list of allocations advise Captains and get Captains agreement. Advise WebMaster to place on website Publish on MRHA and any other League platforms as required During season manage requests for additional pitches and cancellations Monitor pitch cancelations due to poor weather, advise supplier and treasurer and potentially book any replacement pitches required.   14. Head of Sponsorship What am I responsible for? Actively seeking and securing club funding to support the CDP, this may involve small section agreements, kit agreements or whole club funding. Areas to be explored should be local business and government body opportunities such as Sport England. What is my role? Apply for grants / sponsorship or other forms of financial assistance from organisations such as Sport England, Local Authorities or commercial companies Approve all potential sponsorship agreements on behalf of SHC ensuring ethical and compliance guidelines are always adhered to.   15. Kit Manager What am I responsible for? Coordinating and governing kit requirements with SHC kit provider. What is my role? With Membership Secretary assign & maintain playing number allocations across the membership Resolve kit issues as they arise with partners Coordinate bulk orders as required Interested in applying?
