Learned societies for science and society 1/2 Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, in short TSV, is a cooperative body of 300 bottom up research communities. Societies unite researchers and experts across organisations, fields and sectors to advance research and dissemination in their fields. As an independent public umbrella organisation, TSV facilitates and coordinates national level policies and activities, such as open science and responsible researcher assessment. Learned societies for science and society 2/2 According to a recently published survey, the members of learned societies agree that advancement of open science, research integrity and research assessment should play an important role in their societies operations. In Finland, Europe and globally, learned societies can and should be more strongly and strategically engaged in responsible research and assessment for the full benefit of science and society.
