Exploration and the Environment A) Exploration has a very low impact on the environment if done correctly. A few points to remember: 1) Adhere to EMP 2) A compensation agreement with the farmer/ local community must be in place. 3) Always consult with farmers and/or communities in the exploration area keep good relations by informing the farmers/ local communities on exploration plans. 4) Respect local traditions 5) The explorationist must have knowledge on animal behaviour 1

Exploration and the Envioronment C) Environmental Practitioners should establish a professional board Unprofessional conduct by many environmental practitioners can be observed (cut and paste practises as well as conflict of interest in some instances) 7

Exploration and the Environment E) Capacity for monitoring the environment should be established within GRN or is the NCE taking over this roll? Is the agricultural laboratory still functional? 9
