Return to School Safely ST PAULS MONASTEREVIN
Acting Responsibly It s up to us all to keep our school community safe. This includes recognising the signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and not attending school if we display these symptoms. It also involves the school putting in place measures to keep our school safe and for all staff, pupils and parents to actively engage in ensuring these measures are adhered to.

Your Responsibility - - Know the signs and symptoms of Covid 19 Keep yourself safe by wearing a mask when 2M distancing is not possible Ventilate the room . OPEN THE WINDOWS AND DOORS Encourage correct behavior by pupils. Call them on it when behaviour is not appropriate Ask for help if not sure LWR/ Senior teacher etc. - - -
Recognise the symptoms If your child has any of the following symptoms of Covid-19, do not send them to school and contact your GP: --> A temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or more, a new cough, loss or changed sense of taste or smell, shortness of breath or an existing breathing condition that has become worse. -->Other uncommon symptoms of Covid-19, such as sore throat, headaches or diarrhoea.
TESTING If your GP sends your child for a Covid-19 test, your child should remain at home until a negative test result is received If Covid-19 is not detected from the test, they can return to school once their symptoms are clear If Covid-19 is detected, they must self-isolate and follow the instructions from public health Public health will provide guidance to you on the next steps to follow. 1. 1. Wear a Mask Wear a Mask It is essential that all pupils and teachers wear a correct mask. This is one that covers your mouth and nose and is tied behind your ears. You must have the mask on at all times in the school building and on the yard when 2M social distancing is not possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMCS6gT8SzQ
2. Sanitise your Hands Hands: You must sanitise your hands regularly using the gel provided around the school. Upon entering or leaving the school, a classroom, bathroom, eating area etc. If you are beginning a new task . 3. Social distancing Your classrooms will be arranged so that you are position 1M apart when in class. (THIS MEANS A MASK MUST BE WORN INDOORS AT ALL TIMES) On the yard or at your locker you must protect yourself and act responsibly. --Don t enter a crowded area around your locker, move on and come back later on. --sanitise your locker when finished. --move outdoors for your breaks and dont remain inside in corridors and classrooms.
Ventilation Ventilation is one of the most important factors in limiting the spread of Covid 19. When in class all windows and doors should be OPEN to ensure there is a flow of air. CO2 monitors will be used to monitor the level of ventilation in areas of concern in schools. If YOU enter a room and the window in closed, be proactive and OPEN!!!
