  2. Georgia Studies Georgia Studies Content Content All course content is from the GSE for 8th Grade Social Studies. Your child has a copy of the standards. They are also on my ItsLearning page in the Course Documents folder. 8th graders will take an EOG test for Georgia Studies in May.

  3. Participation Points Participation Points All Advanced students must earn 15 pts per semester Summative, non-recoverable Intended to get students thinking about GA outside of class. Opportunities are listed on Its Learning; I am also open to suggestions. Please monitor these carefully everyone starts at 0, so don t panic when I put that in tomorrow. Grades will become active 1 week before deadline for points First semester deadline is December 9th December 9th

  4. Its Learning Classwork & homework assignments are posted on the Its Learning PLANNER. I post the whole unit at once, so students can plan ahead. Study resources are provided for EVERY unit test - look on the Unit Resource page attached to the planner. Students should check Its Learning every day, ESPECIALLY if they are absent. Absent students should communicate Absent students should communicate with me with me so I can help them keep up/catch up.

  5. High School Course Recommendations 8th grade teachers make recommendations in February, so recommendations are based on 1st Semester grades. What is offered for 9th graders? * AP Human Geography On-level World Geography & History in Film AP World History (Alliance HS only)

  6. High School Course High School Course Recommendations Recommendations Requirements for AP Recommendation: A high A (96+) in GA Studies 1st Semester (and maintain that in 2nd semester). Students with a 90-95 1st Semester (and those who are not maintaining the higher A) must also have an Honors Lit recommendation from their current ELA teacher in order to be recommended for AP Human. Parents DO have the option to waive students in (or out) of AP Human.
