Many students have very little knowledge of UK weather Even more feel unconfident about teaching weather Lots more weather in the new National Curriculum, GCSE and A level exam specifications
Up till now One day subject knowledge course offered free of charge to PGCE students Mid-latitude depressions, fieldwork, experiments, practical exercises Over the last 4-5 years, we have visited over 20 universities Feedback has been outstanding, from whole spectrum of students How can we continue?
What is a MOOC/ FutureLearn? Massive Open Online Courses FutureLearn owned by Open University Courses are free Can be taken by thousands Peer and specialist support in supported period Courses open for longer can complete in own time
Based on face to face course + a bit extra In conjunction with Reading University Aimed at UK geography teachers but open to all 2-3 hours/ week over 3 weeks 13th June, 10th October start dates Extremely interactive with expert support Certificates available
