Low energy Au @ 3.85 GeV Goals Provide Yellow beam for STAR fixed target run 6-24 bunches at modest intensities Machine Development in preparation for FY 2019, 2020 low energy runs Injection kicker tests: kicker rise time measurements Persistent current effects: hysteresis, optics, injection drift Fast injection losses and beam lifetime issues Setup begins following Maintenance Wednesday Reestablish Yellow beam at 3.85 GeV, 9MHz RF h=120 Provide beam on STAR target overnight for experiment setup Machine Development periods Thursday & Friday STAR runs through Monday Machine Development Monday, then switch back to 13.5 GeV medium energy run
Looking Ahead RF Landau and Acceleration Cavity test Test beam loading on cavities through gamma transition Requires high Au intensities from injectors. Scheduling needs some extra consideration of EBIS electron gun situation. CeC time at 26 GeV interleaves with 13.5 GeV ramps throughout remainder of run
