Rideau Child & Family Hub AN INFORMATION LINK FOR FAMILIES IN RIDEAU LAKES TO FIND LOCAL SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES
What is a community hub? A community hub can be a school, a neighbourhood centre or another public space that offers co-located or integrated services such as education, health care and social services. Each hub is as unique as the community it serves. http://www.ontario.ca/page/community-hubs
What does a community hub offer? Community hubs offer the opportunity to better coordinate services such as education, health care, recreation and social services around the needs of a local community or neighbourhood.
How did we get here? In 2014 Every Kid in Our Community [EKIOC] made a commitment to develop a pilot community hub to find easier ways of coordinating services and linking to families After many discussions at EKIOC and Best Start L&G, Guthrie House in Elgin was chosen to be the pilot site under the management of Country Roads Community Health Centre
Who is busy at this? Throughout 2015 the Hub committee has been meeting to design the plan based on local input and needs. Membership includes: Country Roads CHC Rideau Lakes Public Library Township of Rideau Lakes [recreation] School Board representation-RDHS Every Kid In Our Community and Best Start membership

What will the Hub be offering? Anne can help you link to services available for your child/family needs. Current community services/activities information. Space is available to meet with service providers for appointments.
What services are already at Guthrie House? Ontario Works- United Counties Keys Job Centre Children s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville Rideau Lakes Chiropractic Attend Monthly: Country Roads Diabetic Clinic Providence Care Alzheimer Society 1000 Islands Credit Counselling Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement ( BDACI)

Example: Triple P Family Transitions program is starting September 29 at the Portland Health Centre. Read to Every Kid launch at the Municipal Building in Elgin October 5 BDACI starting 4th Friday morning every Month
