How are BetterM2M different from the rest?
Bespoke Configuration RobustOS is Robustel s proprietary device operating system. Built from the ground up around a Linux Kernel, RobustOS allows for lightweight firmware and application delivery across the Robustel product range. BetterM2M have the ability to create custom configurations on large scale opportunities to reduce the need for high level engineer time in deploying 4G hardware. Common Config changes: Specific IP access to 1 port Disable Eth 1 Ethernet port configuration Firewall rule changes Silo devices on WiFi Default Custom SSID Switching WiFi on/off
Bespoke Configuration A bespoke configuration can be deployed to BetterM2M Robustels remotely. This is due to custom applications that BetterM2M have on all of our Robustel devices. For small changes, there is no need to reboot the router.
Custom Apps BetterM2M has built some custom applications that sit on top of our Robustel range. The most important of these are: Mobile Manager App Healthcheck App
Mobile Manager App: Auto configuration of APNs. Allows BetterM2M to deploy bespoke configs to hundreds of routers simultaneously without the need for engineer visits or manually deploying 1 at a time. Also allows for in-flight changes to configs for device groups. Reports router status back to BetterM2M IoT core and is visible via Customer UI and Mobile Manager. This can be set into a low data mode to only report on data usage or a set interval.
Healthcheck App: Checks the status of key components within the Robustel. Regularly monitors BetterM2M s Mobile Manager app. If it is in an unhealthy state, it will restart the app (no router reboot). Auto reboot if certain amount of Ping Tests fail. Router will ping 2 x Google DNS servers 3 times each, in 10 minute intervals. If all Ping Tests fail for an hour, the router will automatically reboot.
SMS Commands A key feature of the SMS commands, is the ability to send an SMS message to the router to recover Data Comms remotely when all else has failed. A simple SMS could be the difference between having to visit site or not put in more stark terms A 10p SMS message could save a 1000 truck-roll!
SMS Commands If you need to check APN settings then you can do this remotely. This facility works, even if the incorrect APN settings are configured on the router incorrectly. Incredibly useful if you cannot access the router remotely

DaaS Device as a Service DaaS Product T&C s BetterM2M offer an Advanced Replacement service on DaaS; if the hardware develops a fault, we immediately send out a replacement and cover the cost for returns. Upgrade options without penalty e.g.,5G becomes available to a customer, they can upgrade to a 5G router and return the original. At the end of your rental period you have the following options: Continue as is on a rolling 30day contract Return the router and cancel the DaaS subscription on 30day terms.
