Role of Nurse Practitioners in Healthcare
Nurse practitioners (NPs) play a vital role in healthcare by providing primary, acute, and specialty care across all ages. They are highly skilled professionals who can diagnose, treat health conditions, order tests, and prescribe treatments. NPs work independently or collaboratively with physicians, focusing on holistic patient care and education. With advanced education and specialized training, NPs offer a unique approach to patient care, emphasizing prevention, teaching, and personalized treatment plans. Their role is crucial in addressing the primary care physician shortage and improving patient outcomes.
