CSS of National Importance : Role of PRIs Objective of SDGs : Put People First No one is left Behind PRIs are responsible for providing basic services in villages such as - Employment Generation Creating livelihood opportunities Drinking Water Sanitation Social Security Creating infrastructure for economic development Women and child development For each of these services, there is a CSS PRIs have key role to plan and implement CSS 2

What is Required For LSDGs There is a need to develop awareness and knowhow on CSS among the PRIs to enable them to plan and implement In CB&T on LSDG , each CSS needs to be mapped with relevant theme Provide access to the dynamic data of CSS from MIS to PRIs Line dept. should provide technical guidance in formulation of GPDP State should develop guidelines for convergence of different CSS 6

Formulation of SAGY is guided by convergence of resources available from a range of existing Central and State Schemes and building partnerships with NGOs/ other organizations. Gram Panchayats to strengthen and institutionalize the Gram Sabha for active participation of people in the decision making in local development process 4 Vibrant Gram Sabha No Funds released to PRIs 5 Mobilization of Own Source Revenues No Funds released to PRIs There is a huge potential and scope for augmentation of Own Source Revenue (OSR) through effective implementation of taxation powers.
