Precinct Caucus Roles 2024 Elections
What Is The Purpose Of Caucus For Elections? Caucus begins the process of who will be at convention. Gathers Republicans who are interested in being involved as alternates and delegates
What Happens During Caucus Each Precinct should have designated individuals to fulfill roles so caucus runs smoothly and orderly. There is set criteria that needs to be met for caucus to meet state requirements i.e. starting at certain times and order of meeting, information discussed and read at meetings. Roles for precincts needs to be established during the meeting.
Connect ahead of time with the person who has the tub containing the caucus material. Coordinate reporting of the gubernatorial preference poll results if that applies. After caucus, return the material to the tub and collect all tubs from all precincts if there are other precincts at your site. Site Captain
The Convener The Convener reads from the prepared caucus script what is legally required to be fulfilled at the caucus meeting. Conveners ensures that the caucus starts on time, follow schedule and agenda. More information will also be provided at training.
Educator The Educator reads the information from the prepared caucus script about how our local organization works. Thorough instructions to do this work are provided at a training session. Be available to answer questions.
Secretary Record caucus minutes. Blank places are provided in the script to record all the necessary minutes. Double check the recorded data. Sign and give your script with the minutes to the Site Captain to be placed in the caucus tub. This is the official record of the caucus meeting. Sign several caucus forms.
Greeters Provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for caucus. Answer questions and point guests to the registration table and information table. Help new attendees and encourage participation. Be responsible for the Donation Tub. Be aware of the crowd and situations should they arise.
Registrar Record the elected delegates and alternates in the registration software. Record the elected officers in the registration software. Record election judge volunteers in the registration software. Record who would like to display yard signs. Give the completed registration file on the flash drive to the Site Captain to be placed in the caucus tub.
