  1. ObstaclesOR Incubators? Romans 14:10-19

  2. Romans 14:8-19 8If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.9For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.10You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God s judgment seat.

  3. Romans 14:8-19 11It is written: As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God. 12So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

  4. Romans 14:8-19 14I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. 15If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.

  5. Romans 14:8-19 16Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.19Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

  6. Dont judge or be judgmental of other believers about non-absolute issues! (see 14:4, 10, 13) A corollary/command in vs. 13-- Make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

  8. Romans 8:1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus . I Corinthians 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures . I Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross.

  9. I Corinthians 3:10-14 10) By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11) For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12) If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,

  10. I Corinthians 3:10-14 13) their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person s work. 14) If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15) If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved even though only as one escaping through the flames.

  11. Command #1:Dont judge or be judgmental of other believers about non-absolute issues! WHY? First, we re all going to be judged in the end, not by each other, but by God. Second, Jesus is Lord of your brother/ sister, not you. (Rm. 14:8, 10)
