Early Life Born in 1913 on Feb 4th Tuskegee, Alabama Rosa s mom wanted her to have a good education She had to live with segregation which mean s separation of the races
What she is famous for She is famous for not giving up her seat on the bus, by doing that she helped start the civil rights movement Her arrest spark a boycott of the bus system
Character traits with support Brave because she did not give up her seat Persistent because she never gave up fighting for her rights
Major accomplishments Ended segregation Ended boycott The boycott lasted from Dec 5th, 1955 to Dec 20th,1956 thousands of blacks refused to ride Montgomery s buses
Interesting facts Boycott ended in 1956 Rosa park s died in Detroit on October 24th2005 Some people call her the mother of the civil rights movement She would not ride an elevator marked black only, she would take the stairs instead She did not give up until the law s changed
