Kiel Institute for the World Economy - Odesa National University Roundtable: Fostering Research Collaborations and Exchange in Global Economic Studies The directions of scientific research of the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations The roundtable was organized within the project: Socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia s full-scale invasion on the development of EU and Ukraine: fostering research collaborations through establishing of a digital knowledge exchange platform . This project has received funding from the European Union s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under Grant Agreement no. 871072.   2. The history of higher education in Southern Ukraine began with the founding of 13 May 1865 Emperor Novorossiya University, which later was renamed to Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University 11 000 students study in the university: among them - 320 foreigners from 40 countries. There are 54 science and research laboratories and 3 science institutes in the university. Students are trained at 48 specialties in 3 institutes and 11 faculties Since 2010 ONU has been an active members of the EU Program Erasmus+, which allows students, graduate students and qualified teaching staff to receive training/internship in the leading universities of Western Europe URL: http://imo.onu.edu.ua/en/about-onu
