  2. Safe2Say Something Origins Originated from the Sandy Hook tragedy Group came up with the idea to create an interactive platform to communicate with appropriate parties Designed to create awareness of harmful situations students sometimes find themselves

  3. Program Design Communicate Life threatening incidents (Shootings, suicides, drug- overdoses, self-harm) Non-life threatening (Sexual assault, bullying, cyber-bullying, other acts of violence) These are just examples and are not limited to what can/should be reported

  4. What should be reported Anything that is credible Anything that is a threat to a person, people, or place All false reports will be viewed in a similar manner as a fake bomb threat. Reports may be anonymous but can be found using police methods

  5. How Safe2Say works Tip Submission Three ways 24/7 Hotline 1-844-SAF2SAY Website SAFE2SAY Something (google search) APP Go to App store and search SAFE2SAY Any person can submit using these three formats Suggested that non-life threatening tips be submitted with trusted adult

  6. After a Tip is Submitted Each tip is reviewed at a center and triaged After tip is triaged there will be a determination if this is life threatening or non-life threatening Life threatening tips will be handled by proper authorities. Non-life threatening tips will be sent to appropriate staff including school employees

  7. District and School Roles TASD has a 3-5 member team with secondary teams in each of our building levels. District team members include: Dr. Toth District Lead Mr. McCabe HS Mr. Czapla MS Mrs. Shook ELEMS Mrs. Gardiner Special Education

  8. School Responsibilities Each school will have individual teams that assist the district level team All faculty and ancillary staff have been trained with this program School teams will have members associated that have unique skill or want to be part of the team. Teams are comprised mostly of volunteers
