  2. The Big Take Away From This Presentation The Big Take Away From This Presentation Pre-arrival or Post clean inspections are the last opportunity for safety checks before guests or owners arrive. Safety is not defined by the absence of accidents; it is the presence of controls. The controls you put in place and verify to protect your guests, owners, and team members are critical to managing safety in your business.

  3. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Alarms Are they present and in place? Do they activate when the test button is pressed? Any tape or material over the smoke alarm?

  4. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Fire Extinguisher Is a fire extinguisher available in the property? If there are multiple floors, is a fire extinguisher on each floor? Is it charged? Check the gauge to see if it is in the green.

  5. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Entry & Exits to the property Are the exits and entrances to the property free and clear of obstructions? Is lighting on inside and outside the house if guests or owners arrive after dark?

  6. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection BBQ Grills or Propane Grills Are the grills at least 10 feet away from the house? Instructions present to not grill under the house or on balconies? Is the grill, brushes and equipment in good condition? Is an ash can present for the hot coals? For the propane grill, is the O-ring for the gas connection in good condition?

  8. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Food, condiments, or drinks Are food, condiments, or drinks left by previous guest or owner? If allowed, check the expiration dates for expired products. Anything left for the next guest should be sealed and no previously opened.

  9. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Rugs and Carpet Do the rugs or carpets have ends or corners turned up? Do the rugs in the kitchen and bathroom have slip resistant backing?

  10. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Water leaks or very wet floors Are there any water leaks from the property above in a condo stack? Any water leaks from water sources in the kitchen and bathroom? Look in the cabinets under sinks. Are the floors dry from the cleaning & no condensation on the floors?

  11. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Tripping Hazards Are there any trip hazards to the entry of the house? Uneven bricks, stones, or uneven walkways. Are there any objects on the stairs or on the floors? Any uneven surfaces in the home?

  12. Safety Checks During Post Clean Inspection Balcony Area - If present Is the balcony area clean and free of materials on the floor? Materials can be accidentally kicked off the edge of balcony. Are chairs or bar height chairs moved away from the edge of the balcony rail?
