SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDANCE The following slides outline the measures for our initial return to the SYA Cheer Gym, The Atmosphere.
WELCOME HOME Initial guidance for our return to classes and private lessons is detailed in this presentation. As Virginia proceeds into phases, we will be sending out additional guidance as teams are formed and practices are permitted. Competitive Cheer, in its entirety, is a full contact sport; however, while we wait for guidance on returning to full contact participation, our athletes can continue working on individual skills to include, but is not limited to, the following: Tumbling Jumps Stretching (Flexibility) Strength training Dance and Motions
THE ATMOSPHERE Here are a few changes to our facility: New cubby areas allow for social distancing as athletes arrive and prepare for their class or lessons. New hand sanitizer stations placed at entry door and exit door. Contracted with Loyal Hygiene Solutions for regular sanitizing and disinfecting of gym facility. Additional soap dispenser located by the utility sink. Water fountains are closed, but the refill station is still operational. One door is designated for entry only and the other will be exit only. Handwashing guidance posted in the bathrooms for reminders. New mat cleaner that is EPA registered and lasts up to 21 days. Use of professional grade disinfecting wipes for cleaning of mats and other gym used equipment. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
LOYAL HYGIENE SOLUTIONS SYA Extreme has contracted with Loyal Hygiene Solutions. Loyal Hygiene Solutions will: Sanitize everything that is touched in the gym on a regular basis. All soap and hand sanitizer dispensers will be checked and filled on a bi-weekly basis. 1. 2. Center pull antibacterial wipe dispensers will be installed in the facility. Bottles of sanitizer and disinfectant will be replenished as needed. In addition to the EPA approved spray, Loyal will sanitize the mats on a regular basis. Gloves and trash bags will be replenished as needed. 3. 4. 5. 6.
CLASSES AND LESSONS All athletes must have a signed SYA Extreme Participation Waiver Form on file at the gym. All athletes will also be required to have a signed COVID-19 Waiver form on file either through the SYA online registration database or in paper form at the gym. Forms will be available for printing off of our website, on Band, and at the gym facility. Classes and lessons will be limited in size for our initial phase. For classes, parents will not be permitted to enter the facility. For private lessons, parents will be allowed to remain in the parent seating area. NO SIBLINGS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR CLASS OR LESSONS. Classes will be strictly non-spotted for initial phase and athletes must maintain social distancing. Class sizes: 6 athletes max with 2 coaches or 1 Coach and 1 Jr. Coach. Classes will have a 30 minute window between classes to allow for exit of current class and cleaning of space between classes. Private/Semi Private lessons: 3 athletes max with 1 coach. Lessons can be spotted or non- spotted per parent and coaches comfort level. Private lessons will not be scheduled during class time. Private lessons MUST end 30 minutes prior to next class/lessons start or start 30 minutes after lesson/class time and MUST adhere to cleaning guidelines.
ENTRY PROCEDURES Please utilize first door for entry even if the bay door is open. 1. Athletes will be allowed to enter no earlier than 10 minutes prior to class/lesson start time please wait for Coach to open the door before allowing athlete to enter. If you are attending a class and your athlete is young, you may walk them to the door, but do not enter. Your athlete will be asked to wait at an indicated spot if there is an athlete already signing in. Please do not crowd the door. Mask must be worn by all personnel entering unless exempt per Governor Northam. 2. Athletes must enter and exit wearing a mask, but will not be wearing them when engaged in activity. This follows CDC recommendation. Please bring a plastic ziplock bag for your athlete to safely store their mask in when not in use. All individuals entering the facility will utilize hand sanitizer upon entry located by the door. 3. Temperature check will be accomplished when anyone enters the facility for all athletes and adults. 4. If your athlete or anyone in your home is sick or experiencing flu-like symptoms, you are requested to self- identify and stay home.
ENTRY PROCEDURES (CONT.) Anyone who enters the facility will be signed in by a Coach, with name, date, time entered, time exited, and phone number. 5. Only one person (Coach or designated Jr Coach) will be allowed to sign in/out individuals. All individuals that enter, not just athletes, will be recorded for tracing and contacting purposes. Athletes will be directed to their designated cubby area to place any items and put on their shoes. 6. All athletes MUST bring their own water bottles. The water fountains will be closed. The refill station will remain operational. Athletes will wait in their designated cubby area until the coaches calls them. Athletes will be required to maintain social distancing while waiting for their class/lesson to begin. Once everyone is signed in, the first three athletes will be directed to a sink to wash their hands with soap and water, followed by the next three athletes. Coaches and Jr Coaches will also re-wash their hands. 7.
CLASS PROCEDURES Coaches will have social distancing areas for each athlete to participate in their activity. 1. Please talk with your athlete about respecting social distancing as placed by coach. Mask may be removed by athlete and placed in their ziplock bag at their station. 2. Recommend having your athletes name on the ziplock bag. Stations may be utilized, but mats must be wiped down between athletes. 3. Your athlete may be asked to wipe down the mat used if they are old enough. Please indicate to coaches if you are not comfortable with your athlete wiping down mats. Tumble track/air track may be utilized by 1 athlete at a time. The athlete will be required to utilize hand sanitizer periodically during use. 4. Landing mat/air track will be wiped down between athletes. Coaches and Jr. Coaches will wear masks when unable to maintain 10 feet distance. 5. Coaches may approach to hold mats on stations only for safety. Coaches will have no contact with athletes, Class will end on time and athletes may be asked to wipe down their last station. 6.
EXIT PROCEDURES At the end of the class, athletes will be directed to re-wash their hands with soap and water. 1. Athletes will replace their mask on their face and return to their cubby area to gather their belongings. 2. Athletes will wait in their cubby area until the Coach indicates they can leave. One athlete at a time will be called to the exit door. 3. Coaches will sign out athlete and remind them to use the hand sanitizer as they exit. 4. Please be in the parking lot waiting for your athlete at class end time. If your athlete is young, you may approach the door when Coach indicates. To help coaches, if you want to place a sign in your window with your athlete s name (like the schools do), you may do so. No athlete will be allowed to leave the building on their own to wait outside.
PREP FOR NEXT CLASS Coaches will clean cubby area after athletes exit. Coaches will ensure bathrooms are wiped down and cleaned if utilized for more than washing hands. Coaches will ensure mats are cleaned and ready for next class. Coaches will clean door handles and any surfaces touched. Coaches will open entry door when ready to proceed with next class.
CLASS SIGN UP PROCEDURES 1. Sign up Genius will be posted on SYA Gym Band page. 2. Coaches will indicate what times they are available for lessons. All lessons must be recorded on Sign up Genius. 3. Sign up will be first come, first serve please respect health guidance. If your athlete or a family member falls ill, please cancel your slot. Sign up Genius will collect name of parent, athlete, and a phone number.
HEALTH & SAFETY REMINDERS Do not enter the facility if you are exhibiting any signs of illness such as sneezing, coughing, sniffles, have a fever, or do not feel well. If you are repeatedly sneezing or coughing, you may be asked to immediately leave the facility. All athletes and coaches will practice responsible social distancing by remaining at least 6 ft apart whenever possible. All athletes, parents, and coaches will wear face masks whenever applicable. Wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer upon entrance, during class/private lesson/practice, before and after you eat, and as you leave. Hand washing and hand- sanitizer stations are provided. Avoid touching your face including your eyes, nose, and mouth. Restrooms will limit occupancy to one person at a time. Restrooms will be cleaned between each class/private lesson/practice.
HEALTH NOTIFICATIONS SYA Extreme s Cheer Commissioner, Tammy McCarron, must be notified IMMEDIATELY if any athlete, parent, and/or coach has tested positive for COVID- 19, or believes they have been exposed to the virus. Tammy McCarron contact information: Cell: 571.340.2432 Email: xtremecheersya@gmail.com If the athlete, parent, or coach was physically in the gym facility, the facility will be closed for a thorough cleaning. All athletes, parents, and coaches will be notified of possible exposure to virus. Coaches possibly exposed to the virus will not be allow to hold private lessons, teach classes, and/or hold practices for 14-days from the date of positive testing notification.
FACILITY CLOSING CHECKLIST FOR COACHES At the end of each day, the closing Coach will take a picture of the sign-in/sign-out sheet and send to SYA Extreme Cheer Commissioner. All equipment used must be cleaned. Both bathrooms must be cleaned. Sign-in area must be cleaned and prepared for next day. Cubby areas must be cleared of all trash and personal belongings. Personal belongings left in a cubby will be placed in the Lost and Found tub. Trash must be removed from the gym if cans are more than half full. Turn off both fans. Turn off lights in both bathrooms and main facility area. Ensure that both doors to the facility have been locked.
