CARE OF CREATION Saints of the Environment
Saints of the Environment https://aleteia.org/2017/06/18/5-saints-to-inspire-us-to-take-care-of-our-planet/
St Francis Creator God St Francis loved all of your creatures, even the smallest of them. He saw your fingerprint in every living being and this helped to connect him to you. May I see the world with eyes like St Francis, with a gentle and peaceful heart. Send me your Holy Spirit that I will be filled with wonder and awe and truly appreciated all you have created. Amen
St Kateri Tekakwitha Father God, St Kateri was 'a child of creation' as she knew the plants and animals around her so well. She loved to spend time in nature as here she would pray to you. Help me to appreciate the living world around me when I can. Look after all those who cannot spend time in nature and appreciate your beauty due to being shielded or ill at this time. Amen
St Benedict of Nursia Loving Father, St Benedict believed that prayer along with work could make the world a more harmonious place in which all of us can live. Send your Holy Spirit to guide me so that I will have a prayerful and generous heart. Help me to work hard to bring harmony to my family and to the natural world around me, especially as we are spending so much time at home together. Amen
St Blessed Paul VI God our Father Blessed Paul VI identified that lack of consideration for the world around us would have a negative impact on all our lives. Open my eyes, Lord, so that I can see the need in the human and physical world around me. Help me to make the changes necessary in order to bring comfort and healing. Amen
Dorothy Day (Servant of God) Loving God, Dorothy Day dedicated her life to looking after the poor and the stewardship of the earth. May I dedicate myself to you in all I think, say and do. At this time of crisis, help me to do what I can for those in most need of food, protection and prayer. Amen
