SAN ONOFRE DECOMMISSIONING Background on the CEP Established by SONGS co-owners to serve as a two- way conduit of information Volunteer body Does not take votes or make formal decisions Focuses on interests and concerns of the community 2
SAN ONOFRE DECOMMISSIONING Impetus for forming the CEP Reflects the co-owners desire to formalize engagement with the community Considered an industry best practice by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Similar panels formed at other decommissioning nuclear plants, including Maine Yankee and Zion 3
SAN ONOFRE DECOMMISSIONING Membership of the CEP Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary + 15 other members All serve 2-yr (renewable) terms SONGS co-owners wrote charter and selected which groups would be represented The leaders of those organizations were invited to participate and all accepted 4
