Reading Reading Books and Planners to be brought in every day. Please fill in when your child has read at home. We expect children to read 3 times a week at least. Reading books will be given out and changed weekly. Practise the key words that were sent home with your child. Once your child becomes familiar with these key words we can give your child a reading book that includes words.
Phonics Your child is following the Supersonic Phonic Friends scheme at school, which helps them to learn and recognise sounds to develop early reading. Please practice writing different letter sounds each week with your child. We are currently working on hearing and writing the initial sounds in words, if you can discuss these with your child at home it will help hugely in school. For example c in cat, h in hat.
Homework Homework books will be collected in every Monday and handed back out every Thursday. Homework will be stuck in their books each week and the expectation is that it is completed on time. Please encourage your child to use cursive handwriting as this is how we teach it at School. Practising their names. Practising number to 10.
