General Maintenance & Repairs COMPLETED OVER 1,400 WORK ORDER REQUESTS (AND COUNTING) FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF 378,000 SQUARE FEET OF BUILDINGS (EQUIVALENT TO 189 TYPICAL HOUSES) ANNUAL UPKEEP OF 90 ACRES OF PROPERTY MAINTENANCE OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS (185 CLASSROOM UNIT VENTILATORS, 43 AIR HANDLERS, BOILER SYSTEMS, ELECTRICAL AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS)
Security Improvements The District is investigating modernizing our entire camera system to meet today s security needs. We have moved to U&S Services to provide state-of-the-art design, and to implement a more user-friendly system. Working to improve lockdown systems. Working to improve entry way security at the Primary Building.
Vision 20/20 The interior door replacements at the Intermediate School. District has completed This will conclude Vision 20/20.
2023-2024 Capital Outlay Project SED approval was received for exterior doors, lintels and some CMU replacement at the Intermediate School. Work started in April 2024 and is progressing with Dry-Vit.
2024-2025 Capital Outlay Project THE CBC HAS BEEN IN DISCUSSION REGARDING DISTRICT NEEDS.
Maintenance Work High School Installed new washer and dryer. Classrooms 108, 125, 228 Installed new whiteboards. Conference Room Fan Coil Unit 29 Replaced blower motor. Classrooms 218, 220 Installed new sediment traps. Kitchen Installed 2 new sinks, new faucets, and grease trap. Performed maintenance on air handlers checked all electrical connections, checked and greased bearings, checked belts, replaced filters, checked operation. Performed maintenance on kitchen equipment cleaned condensers and evaporator coils, descaled dish machine and steamers, flushed hot water tank, checked operation. Boiler room - Performed maintenance on all boilers. Used a Recon coat (gym floor finish) for sealing the gymnasium. Replaced front canopy lights. Boys and girls locker rooms Replaced light fixtures. Replaced broken bleacher. Lubricated locks throughout high school.
Maintenance Work High School Repaired mortar around entrance doors. Boiler room - Painted floor. Heating loop #7 - Changed piping to separate supply from return, Dead-Head. Nurse s office - Replaced ice maker in fridge. Removed jock s corner boys gang lavatory door as per Kevin Ryan request. Continue re-organizing the storage areas and custodial office/lunchroom space. Changed senior locker combinations after locker cleanout for the new semester. Gymnasium - Removed old wall pads. Gymnasium New custom DuraSafe gym wall pads installed by Toth s Sports during Spring Recess. Gymnasium Put up batting cages. Room 204 - Replaced damper actuator in classroom unit. Heating Loop 8 - Replaced mixing valve actuator. Room 220 - Added outlets for computer desks and eliminated extension cords to power up computers.
Maintenance Work Middle School Principal s Office Fan Coil Unit 1 Replaced blower motor. Classroom Unit 349a Replaced face and bypass damper. Classroom 346a Replaced heat valve actuator. Classroom 346a Replaced outside air and face and bypass damper actuator. Classroom 347 Replaced blower motor on unit. Used a Recon coat for sealing the gymnasium. Performed maintenance on air handlers checked electrical connections, checked and greased bearings, checked belts, replaced filters, checked operation. Performed maintenance on kitchen equipment cleaned condensers and evaporator coils, descaled dish machine and steamers, flushed hot water tank, checked operation. Kitchen unit ventilator 06 Replaced damper actuator. Room 143 unit ventilator 07 Replaced damper actuator. Room 246B Replaced damper actuator. Boys and girls bathroom 1stfloor B wing Replaced heating valve actuators. Family Center Hung a new bulletin board. Room 242 Hung sensory boards. Got all equipment ready for winter snow removal. Clock replacement.
Maintenance Work Middle School 1stfloor girls bathroom - Replaced fin tube valve actuator. 1stfloor boys bathroom - Replaced fin tube valve actuator. Room 246b - Replaced fin tube valve actuator, and face and bypass damper actuator in unit ventilator. Room 145 Replaced fin tube actuator. Science wing - Cleaned and repaired sink drain main. Replaced hand sanitizers in classrooms. Assisted in cleanout out archive area. Room 340 - Replaced counter tops, and painted cabinets. Library - east unit - replaced heating valve actuator. Changed out water fountain filters. Replaced more faucets and shut offs on sinks in classrooms. Painted the cabinets in room 340. Kept up with the daily cleaning. Pepe Construction tore out the stucco and replaced the lintel and some brink work for Door C that was no longer opening and closing. Work is being prepared for the next phase of this project. Bus Garage - Tire room unit heater - replaced vent motor.
Maintenance Work Intermediate School Gym Replaced all light switches. Gym Replaced broken bleacher boards. Gym Air Handler 1 Replaced mixed air damper actuator. Basement Installed new washing machine. Classroom 153 Installed new kiln. Classroom 220 Installed new whiteboard. Basement 98 Loop Replaced Pump #1 and #2. 51 Building Crawl Space Replaced shut off valves to all classroom sinks and toilets. Painted Classrooms. Painted Family Center. Repaired and replaced broken pipes which fed sinks in a few Intermediate classrooms. Used a Recon coat(gym floor finish) for sealing the gymnasium. Maintenance Work Intermediate School Cafeteria AHU 5 Replaced blower motor. Room 211 Rebuilt steam trap. Room 212 Rebuilt steam trap. Room 214 Rebuilt steam trap. Room 216 Rebuilt steam trap. 14 Building Scraped peeling paint on top section and repainted. Basement Installed new washer and dryer and installed a laundry detergent mixer for the washer. Going through what old furniture can be tossed out of the 3rd Floor 14 Building. Got all equipment ready for winter snow removal. Adjustments were made to cleaning run due to lack of 2nd shift Custodian. Cleaning crew and 3rd shift Custodian have been awesome, and substitute cleaners have been effective. Permanency is needed for this position. Boiler room - 98 loop pump #2 - Replaced bearing assembly. Room 103, 153, and 250 - Replaced sink shut off valves and faucets. Room 214 Replaced fin tube actuator. Room 205 Replaced steam valve actuator in unit ventilator. 51 building crawl space Replaced rotted out sewer for room 101 bathrooms. Replaced plumbing on urinals and toilets Fixed the lights in the auditorium. Washed carpets in the library. Cleaned out old broken set pieces no longer needed in the auditorium.
Maintenance Work Primary School Classroom 112 Replaced blower motor on unit. Classroom 129 Installed full-length hinge on door. Installed new dryer. Assembled new cafeteria tables. Main Office welcome wall. Created confidential office for counselor/psychologist. Music room - Makeover of upholstered benches and worktable. Performed maintenance on air handlers checked electrical connections, checked and greased bearings, checked belts, replaced filters, checked operation. Performed maintenance on kitchen equipment cleaned condenser and evaporator coils, descaled dish machine and steamers, flushed hot water tank, checked operation. Used a Recon coat(gym floor finish) for sealing the gymnasium. Pump #9 Replaced bearing assembly. Installed new kick plates. Rooms 110, 111, 112, 113 - Built new book shelves for UPK. Kitchen - Dishwasher - Replaced expansion tank. Kitchen snaked and cleaned drain. Nurses office - Installed new dimmable lights and dimmer switches. Commons Area - Repaired water leak in domestic hot water line. Boiler room Removed domestic water pump that is not needed.
Maintenance & Athletics Snow removal and salting of parking lots. Set up track for spring track season. Started edging and turning over baseball diamonds. Started cleaning up grounds from winter, leaves, garbage, and damage to grass from plowing. Brought up mowers and other equipment from lower building. Opened concession stand bathrooms and cleaned for season. Started grooming football field. Maintained grounds around buildings, cut grass, weeded flower beds, trimmed around fences and sidewalks Edged and turned over baseball diamonds for spring sports season. Set up high jump and pole vault pads for spring track season. Positioned planter boxes and planted flowers in spring. Updated planter boxes with chrysanthemums for fall. Weeded and mulched all flower beds throughout spring and summer. Cut grass at all buildings throughout spring and summer. Overseeded and fertilized at all buildings. Groomed football field. Set up goals and lined soccer fields for fall sports season. Lined cross country course for fall sports season. Installed wind screens on tennis court. Playgrounds Spread mulch at Intermediate and spread topsoil at Primary to fill areas. Bees Called for service around buildings and continued monitoring.
Maintenance & Athletics Hardball diamond Added infield dirt. Softball diamond Added infield dirt. Groomed turf field. Soccer fields Marked and maintained grass heights at 2- . Installed salter on back of dump truck and made sure it was operating normal. Installed salter in back of Kubota and made sure it was operating normal. Installed plows on all pick-up trucks and made sure they were operating normal. Installed snow blower attachment on new Kubota tractor at Primary School. Performed maintenance on walk-behind snow blowers and made sure they are ready for season. Put snow tires and snow blower attachment on small John Deere tractor. Performed maintenance on lawn mowing equipment, cleaned decks, greased bearings, sharpened blades, changed oil. Winterized concession stand building. Cleaned up leaves around District. Overseeded all grass fields. Tennis courts Removed tennis nets and wind screens. Snowstorm cleanup from the January storm. Equipment repair and preventative maintenance of snow removal equipment. Assisted custodial staff in set-up of job fair.
Our staff, annually, goes above and beyond to maintain a healthy and inviting learning experience for our students and community. A significant amount of this work is done outside of the larger capital projects.
