  2. Lunch/Snack Information - Make sure your child s lunch money is labeled with their name and what it is for. Please send in BLUE folder. - Extras in cafeteria - NO JUICE! Water only in NO SPILL water bottles. - Make sure your child knows the difference between their snack and lunch. - Practice opening/closing containers

  3. Behavior Plan PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. At Wilson Creek we use the PBIS framework to set expectations that students can reasonably meet. Our students who meet expectations in the areas of being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn earn blue paws tickets. These tickets are put in a weekly raffle for a trip to the office prize cart. We also recognize students with monthly awards. These include our Wildcat Words for Winner, Creating Character Awards, and Principal Pride.

  4. What happens when expectations are not followed? Each teacher has a classroom management plan so that we can proactively manage student behaviors by establishing positive routines and procedures. If this proves unsuccessful or a student behaves in such a way that is unsafe, the student is asked to complete a Reflection Sheet. The homeroom teacher documents all Reflection Sheets on a Reflection Log. After a second Reflection Sheet is completed, the sheet will be sent home for parents to review. On the 4th Reflection, an Office Referral is completed for the student and the student will meet with the Assistant Principal. A copy of the 4th Reflection Sheet and the Office Referral will come home with the student to be signed by a parent. IF a student then receives a 5th Reflection Sheet, the teacher will contact the parent for a conference, and we will discuss further interventions for that student. The Reflection Log starts over each nine-week period.

  5. Important transportation information If you need to change your child s afternoon transportation for any reason, you must complete a Change of Dismissal Form and turn it in to the front desk or send electronically. The Change of Dismissal Form can be found on our website. This request should be received NO LATER THAN 12:00 p.m. on the day of the change. At NO TIME should a Change of Dismissal Form be called in to the front desk. The latest you may check out your child early is 1:45 p.m. Students are not allowed reentry into the building after they have been dismissed.

  6. Important clinic information If the clinic assistant calls for student pick up, the child must be picked up within ONE hour. If we cannot get in touch with the parent/guardian, we will call the emergency contact listed. Students who are sick should not come to school. If your child was sick, he/she may not return to school until they are fever free (without fever reducing medication) and/or no vomiting for 24 hours. Medications are housed in the clinic and must have parent documentation.

  7. If your child is absent (or going to be) When your child returns to school from being absent, please send in a Student Absence Note. You may attach a doctor s note, if applicable. If you are planning an absence and want it pre-approved, you must submit a Pre- Approval Request to Ms. Mueller (muellerh@fultonschools.org) 5 days IN ADVANCE. No approvals will be given AFTER the absence. Any absences that are longer than 10 consecutive days require student withdrawal from school.

  8. Attendance Reminders School starts at 7:40 AM and ends at 2:20 PM. All absences are unexcused until our data clerk receives a Student Absence Note or doctor s note. After 3 consecutive days of absences, a doctor s note is required. After 10 cumulative absences, a doctor s note will be required for all future absences and a referral will be made to our School Social Worker. At 15 late arrivals and/or early checkouts, the School Social Worker will be in contact with the child s parent/guardian. Robocalls do go out at 8:30 AM each morning if student is absent.

  9. CheckMate System Tardies Any time your student arrives after the 7:40 AM bell, you must accompany him/her into the front reception area to sign him/her in using the kiosk found on the counter. No tardy slips are given since Checkmate automatically marks them tardy in Campus Portal. Early Check-Outs You will ask Jacky Yin to call for your student (unless he/she is in the clinic) and then check out your student at the kiosk on the counter.

  10. Student Success Skills Student success skills are taught to build a positive classroom community. Teachers guide students through lessons on social and emotional well-being. Examples: friendship, empathy, compassion, and handling emotions.
