  3. Scottish Analytical Infrastructure Collaborative (ScAnInCo) started May 2017 The Board for Official Statisticsin Scotland have developed a shared vision for official statistics in Scotland. We will collaborate wherever possible to help people better produce, find and use statistics about Scotland, to make our services more efficient, and increase our impact. Our approach to this work will be open, flexible and forward thinking, acknowledging that compromise may sometimes be necessary on all sides. Wherever possible, we will seek to build shared infrastructure to support all producers of Official Statistics in Scotland. We have adopted this as the vision for the Scottish Analytical Infrastructure Collaborative (ScAnInCo) programme. 3

  5. Programme Activity Work-Stream Activity PM appointed (Stephen Goold). Work-stream meetings held, Project Brief created and work started on the recommendations report. Mobility of People Work-stream meetings have been held to discuss progress and share experiences. The next meeting has been arranged for February when a PM should be in place. Collaborative Firestarter event planned for 2nd Feb NSS are holding regular show and tells for their Transforming Publications project User Focussed Service Design CivTech project is on course to deliver an MVP by end of March. PM appointed (Jamie Robertson) Two strands have been established. - the SAS training one and the R Strand, which is bringing together user groups in SG and NSS. There's also been a proposal for coding lunches. A procurement exercise is in progress for shared R Training and the selection panel will make their decision by 31st January. Shared Training The Data Science Accelerator programme has been launched across all partners. Arrangements are in place for mentor support and we have 18 applications from six organisations, event kicking off in April. Common Formats PM has been appointed and we ve held initial work-stream meetings has been held. BCM meetings held to develop and refine the blueprint and start populating the benefits catalogue, which was then presented to the Programme Board. Mobility of People Work-stream meetings have been held and support for shared R-Shiny Server and R-Server infrastructure. Shared Tools Common Formats BCM Network Programme Board are meeting regularly. Sponsoring Group met on 19th January. A session was held with Dette Cowden to review programme documentation and establish lessons learnt from other programmes she's been involved with Governance 5

Scottish Data and Informatics Partnership Vision Our vision is of a Partnership which accelerates the realisation of public value and economic advantage through data driven research and innovation. Partners The Partnership will bring together key partners from ScAnInCo, wider public sector and academia as well as establishing collaborative links with the commercial sector. Common Formats Mobility of People Delivery The Data Lab will host the delivery function and bring together people and experience from across the Partnership, adopting a sprint structure, working in challenge teams. We will leverage the distinctive value each partner brings rather than duplicate. 7

Outcomes Trustworthy, secure, timely and efficient access to data for research and analysis in the public interest Shared platforms that provide a flexible and secure analytical environment for researchers, public sector analysts and innovators Enhanced public trust underpinned by our approach to governance and ethics to safeguard privacy and the public interest Enhanced data driven innovation capability across all partners Tangible data innovation projects that deliver significant public value Common Formats Mobility of People 8
