Training for Network Facilitators and Training for Network Facilitators and Moderators Moderators Network Facilitators will be asked to participate in two sessions: A webinar on facilitating in Adobe Connect (April 6 10am or April 7 2pm) A practice facilitation session (optional) (April 21 10am or April 22 1pm) A networking session dress rehearsal (April 28, 29, 30) 3 SCWI/IJECT

SCWI Workshops and Networking Sessions SCWI Workshops and Networking Sessions A A Team Approach Team Approach Content focused facilitators (2 per session) Moderator Invite participants to complete introduction and end of session polls Make introductions Explain rules for discussion Facilitate the chat box, if requested by facilitators Takes notes in Moderators Notes pod Watches time Thank facilitator(s) SCWI will arrange for a moderator and tech support person for each session Tech support ensure participants get into session and can both see and hear presentation support presenter with tech needs Collect polls, chat, q s and a s for post-event posting 7 SCWI/IJECT

Goals of Networking Sessions Goals of Networking Sessions The interactive networking opportunities have proven to be a highlight of our yearly Symposium. The intention is to provide an opportunity for participants to meet colleagues from different areas of the province and sectors (college, school board, SCWI, Ministry and the community) with the following goals: To meet and get to know one another To discuss areas of common focus, and To share challenges and potential solutions. 10 SCWI/IJECT

It helps when people sign in with name and organization Roll call for round table I ask everyone to mute their mic and only turn on video unless they are speaking Opportunity to interact Clear talking guidelines Have an agenda/being able to view the agenda Great minds on activity The ability to participate in discussion and polls Interesting narration concurrent with Power Point In addition to a good presentation, I like to see folks as well. Appoint a recorder for each group (or, if there is only one group, the Moderator will act as recorder so that you can be free to facilitate the discussion). The Moderator should type in the Notes Pod as ideas are generated. If smaller groups are organized, encourage these small groups to introduce themselves at the outset of their small group discussion. 26 SCWI/IJECT
