Securing America: Border Security and Immigration Reform
Secure Our Borders is an ACT for America activism campaign focused on raising awareness about national security issues related to illegal immigration. The campaign advocates thorough vetting of immigrants before they enter the United States and emphasizes the need for merit-based immigration to enhance national security. The Talking Points provide statistics on illegal immigrant populations and the dangers posed by radical individuals seeking entry into the country. The discussion extends to the impact of illegal immigration on local economies, schools, healthcare, and public safety nationwide. Additionally, the campaign addresses the concerns surrounding chain migration and the Diversity Visa Program, highlighting the necessity of reform for a safer and more secure America.

Secure Our Borders is an ACT for America activism campaign focused on raising awareness to the issues surrounding our country's national security. We believe there is nothing wrong with making sure the people entering our country don t want to harm us.
The Talking Points Border Security: PEW Research reported in 2015 that the US illegal immigrant population was at 11.3 million. Many of whom entered illegally on the southwest border, this is a major national security threat which must be addressed. Through chain migration each new legal immigrant has sponsored an average of 3.45 additional immigrants. Immigrant Vetting: Based on all intelligence and studies, 15%-25% of Muslims around the world are considered radical and would be a threat to US public safety. It is in the best interest of national security to vet immigrants thoroughly BEFORE they come to the United States.
The Talking Points Continued DID YOU KNOW? Sayfullo Saipov, the radical Islamic terrorist who murdered 8 people in NYC, entered the US through the Diversity Visa Program? It s time to start merit-based immigration & end the Diversity Lottery. The Port Authority bomber, Akayed Ullah, entered the US through chain migration. Merit-based immigration will allow for extreme vetting and help There is nothing wrong with making sure the people coming into America don t want to harm us and will assimilate into Western culture.
Illegal immigration is not just a matter of interest in states along our border with Mexico. It is having an effect on local economies, schools, health care delivery, and public safety all across the country. -US Senator Roger Wicker
Fox News Exclusive: Chain Migration For the first time an American administration is breaking down how many people come into this country from family ties with specific numbers country by country. It's called chain migration and critics say its a practice that has flooded America with immigrants and their relatives at the expense of citizens already here. And there are many security. Discussion Questions Is it possible to vet immigrants properly from countries like Syria? If chain migration is not fair to other immigrants, what is a good system for admitting immigrants into the United States? What is the best way to secure our Southwest border?
How Can You Help? 1. Activism 2. Pass Legislation 3. Write a Letter to the Editor (LTE)
Activism: Set Up a Secure Our Borders Table Instructions: Set up your table in a public place or get permission from a business owner Tape your poster to the front of the table and place your materials (pens, sign up sheets, flyers, brochures, etc.) on top. These materials can be found in the ACT for America Action Center. ACTforAmerica.org/action Actively engage with people as they walk near your table Do you think America has a right to say who can come into our country? Did you know that 65 countries in the world built walls along their borders? Use the engagement question to get people to stop and talk with you Introduce yourself and tell the person why you re there Ask the individual if they will sign your petition (collect names, emails, and phone numbers) Follow up with anyone who signs up It s best to follow up within 3 days or people will lose interest
Activism: Attend City Council & School Board Meetings Research when your local council and school board meetings are held and send your chapter members to attend! What to listen out for: Zoning and any new buildings Immigration or refugee resettlement Budgets and money allocation Classroom overcrowding Network: Pay attention to which citizens speak at these meetings Before leaving the meeting, introduce yourself to those who share the same view. Tell them their are others who think the same way. Ask if they would like to join your chapter!

Write a Letter to the Editor (LTE) Example LTE: Securing our borders starts with making sure that the people entering our country do not want to harm us. Critics of common sense vetting like to throw around the words, racism and xenophobia. Instead of looking at this issue through the opaque veil of emotion, let us revisit some facts regarding the Diversity Visa Lottery and chain migration. On October 31st, 2017, Sayfullo Saipov drove a rented pickup truck down a New York City bike path, murdering eight innocent people. After plowing down these victims, he exited the truck and shouted, Allahu Akbar. Sayfullo was born in Uzbekistan and entered America through a Diversity Visa Lottery. Similarly, Akayed Ullah detonated a pipe bomb near the Port Authority in NYC on December 11th, 2017. Akayed entered the United States through chain migration. In both of these instances, had President Trump s common sense vetting been in place, neither Sayfullo nor Akayed would have been able to carry out terrorism. It is evident that America does need a more qualified vetting system, as terrorists infiltrated two of our immigration programs. What is also clear is that there is nothing racist or xenophobic about making sure the people we allow into our country do not want to murder us, as we have consistently seen in New York City.
