Key advocacy statements 1 STUDENTS Unlock your skills, find a path to your potential, embrace SEL To claim your future is harder without SEL YOUNGER STUDENTS Respect your peers, grow you own dignity, develop your SEL Learning is fun when shared with others PARENTS SEL gives your children a wider and safer space to learn grow and process Aid your child s discovery of self, community and future, apply SEL TEACHERS SEL sharpens student focus on learning, increasing engagement, understanding and well- being SEL supported teaching provides greater reports SEL supported teaching is more enjoyable, rewarding and effective

Key advocacy statements 2 TEACHER LEADERS Use SEL to improve teacher agency and effectiveness SEL develops more motivated and effective teachers BUSINESS Recruit people with solid SEL skills to boost your business Develop a motivated and skilled workforce to meet demands and challenges of future work Better skills for better performance (cf OECD) POLICY MAKERS SEL builds citizenship and capability contributing to society and economy and meet national priorities Share ownership of SEL policy agendas across health, education, labour and all other departments for sustainability and impact COMMUNITIES Use SEL as an accelerator in building shared communities based on dignity and respect, where everyone has a sense of belonging and can be an agent of change

System level call to action Clarify shared language, understanding and purpose of SEL Set clear standards and expectations related to SEL priority within policy development Create incentives for rigorous adoption and cross department engagement. Clarify requirements within policy design Develop sustained investment in SEL within the department for research and development.

  6. Dissemination Strategy Spread it to all participants of the Seminar, and activate partners Send it to the other Salzburg working groups Disseminate to local stakeholders adding to it an invitation for an action plan (Call for action) Salzburg seminar to disseminate to the UN and influential world agencies the SEL statement Salzburg seminar to support a competitive funds or call for proposal or award
