  9. List activities which demonstrate your interest in physical education, horticulture or biology. (from Nellie T. Neff Memorial Scholarship) In 9th grade I had to help with basketball skills camp for students in grade 3-6. I liked shooting around with the kids and I liked basketball, so I decided I could be a PE teacher and basketball coach.

  10. List activities which demonstrate your interest in physical education, horticulture or biology. (from Nellie T. Neff Memorial Scholarship) In ninth grade I had the opportunity to help with a basketball skills camp for students in 3rd to 6th grades. I had a great experience helping the younger students learn basic fundamental skills needed to play basketball. I continued to help with the camp every basketball season to give back to the community and to the sport that I enjoyed. When I turned sixteen, I became a certified lifeguard and was hired to lifeguard and to teach swimming lessons during the summer. That experience taught me that I truly enjoyed teaching skills to children beyond just basketball. As I thought about what I wanted to do in the future, teaching Physical Education kept coming to the surface as a job that I could be well suited for as I enjoyed working with children as well as teaching fundamental skills.
