SENIOR INFO AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Yearbook Info-Fall 2022-Important Events 2023 picture on the football field Quote and accomplishments handout is due Make-up pictures for seniors: 9/14/22 Last day for early bird yearbook pricing Last day to choose the senior picture you want in the yearbook Payment in full for senior ad as well as the pictures and messages for the page(s) turned in A late fee of $10 will be added to the price of the senior ad. This is the last day you can pay for a senior ad and the last day you can turn in pictures and messages for the ad.
Graduation-Specific Information What do I wear under my cap and gown? Please remember this is a uniform. You should all look alike. No distractions! Males White dress shirt, black slacks, solid black tie (no bowties!), black shoes, and black socks No necklaces or any other items of jewelry/adornment are allowed outside the shirt. Only petite earrings are acceptable. No other visible piercings allowed. Females Any color dress or skirt (shorter than your gown) Black low-heeled shoes or wedges (not flip-flops) Petite jewelry only, and no other visible piercings allowed! Honor graduates Red gowns will not hide dark colors or loud prints. Refer to handout for dates/times. Please remember, all dates are subject to change.
WHAT AM I GONNA BE WHEN I GROW UP? Take an MBTI, Enneagram, YouScience test Search your personality type + careers Find someone who has a job in your interest area and interview or shadow. Decide on the type of school you need for your major (i.e., You can t teach high school math with a degree from a technical college. You don t need a 4-year liberal arts degree to weld.) Don t just choose an easy major. Ask if it will lead to a J-O-B!!!

NAVIGATING A COLLEGE WEBSITE Admission requirements-Do you meet them? Financial aid-Cost, available scholarships Freshmen requirements-Do you have to live on campus? Can you have a car? Deadlines-housing, meal plan, deposits Data-How large is the school? What is their acceptance rate? Graduation rate? Do they have your major? When in doubt, use the on-site SEARCH bar.

HOUSEKEEPING E-mail acceptance letters for a Twitter shout-out. Turn in community service forms and scholarship award letters by May 1. Stay on top of dates and deadlines. Colleges DO NOT bend deadlines! Come to Grad Night. Order your stuff! Be able to tell me your definite post-high school plan by March. Please be nice and remember that Mrs. Jernigan is only one person.
