Health Sex Education Instruction includes: Abstinence + curriculum Parent/Guardian Consent Form Botvin LifeSkills Training curriculum - Refusal Skills Parent options to opt out Option 1 - Full Permission Option 2 - Participate with the exception of Option 3 - Discuss curriculum and review materials with the teacher. Option 4 - Deny permission to participate.
Data Review: Teen Pregnancy Rates Utah Department of Health: 2019 Teen Pregnancy Rates (Ages 15-19) per 1,000 Females Bear River HD = 10.9 rate Hyrum North Logan Logan Other small areas of Cache County
Data Review: STDs HIV & STDs 2019 Utah Update 134 New HIV diagnoses reported in the state (2,625 people living with diagnosed HIV by the end of 2018). Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis increasing in the state. 2019 reported the highest number of STDs in Utah: Chlamydia 11,071 cases, Gonorrhea 2,883 cases, and Syphilis 428 cases. Bear River HD Chlamydia & Gonorrhea most concerned.
Data Review: Child Sexual Abuse & Pornography Child Sexual Abuse - Count of Victims with Supported Sexual Abuse (If youth had more than one case with at least one supported sexual abuse allegation, they were counted each time only once per case). Cache County: FY 2018 - 80 FY 2019 - 71 FY 2020 - 82 Number of Pornography complaints or other instances reported: InTech - 1 student per month
Health I & II Jr. High Implementation of Health: Health I (Health 8) teaches middle school students the skills needed to establish a healthy and safe lifestyle and enhance behaviors to resist unhealthy choices through adolescence.
