  1. Communications Plan Making Research Simple EOSC-hub / OpenAIRE Advance Collaboration plan

  2. Our Approach Objective: Fresh communication perspective, user valued Researcher in the centre + other players Projects outputs and collaboration results in the context of the building blocks of EOSC Output: A list of communication activities (products) that will be implemented throughout the collaboration

  3. Joint Communication Plan Challenge: a joint collaboration communication plan Running in parallel with project plans and activities A deeper understanding of our approaches Emerging EOSC, interpreting our own vision

  4. Objectives The communication plan will: Present the projects outputs Ensure we reach all stakeholders and communicate how/why OpenAIRE Advance & EOSC-hub networks/services can support them. Define appropriate communication activities for each of the collaboration outputs

  5. Communications plan workflow Collaboration objectives results: what, audience, when Results need to be disseminated to maximise impact dissemination messages for each audience Dissemination plan is implemented through a communications plan defines communication activities

  6. Audiences Citizens Content providers Research groups (RIs, ESFRIs) Infrastrutures HE Research Administrators & Managers Service providers Decision makers (Ministries, Funders) Universities/Libraries Researchers (LToS) SMEs / Industry NCPs

  7. Audiences Citizens Content providers Research groups (RIs, ESFRIs) Infrastrutures HE Research Administrators & Managers Service providers Decision makers (Ministries, Funders) Universities/Libraries Researchers (LToS) SMEs / Industry NCPs

  8. What do we do Content in the plan Project dissemination Promotion of common standards Service integration Common training on soft skills for RDM, OS Joint workshops: key issues Harmonised strategic approaches e.g White papers Collaboration outputs

  9. Instruments Press release, News items Training, Events User Stories (in various formats) Focused Short Eye catching Story telling mechanisms

  10. Based on ROADMAP Timeline Milestones Project Q2 2018 Researchers and organizations will benefit from National Open Science Contact points and helpdesk OpenAIRE Q2 2018 Users can access generic and thematic services and data from the EOSC Hub service catalogue EOSC-hub Q2 2018 Joint Activity Users can access multiple sources of scientific outputs thanks to their increased findability, accessibility and interoperability following OpenAIRE guidelines for repository owners Q2 2018 EOSC-hub Industry/SMEs can cooperate with EOSC through a Joint Digital Innovation Hub Q3 2018 Users can use home credentials to be authenticated and authorized when accessing compute, data and open scholarship services in EOSC Joint Activity

  11. Examples

  12. Example Use Case: how to write a paper across three continents M02 / Building on existing services of the collaboration Message: Digital tools to support research, from idea to paper The use case: researchers use WeNMR portals (EOSC-hub Thematic Service) to analyse data, use Zenodo and its capabilities to share restricted content to collaborate across three continents

  13. Example Use Case: Sharing data from thematic repositories via OpenAIRE Research Community Dashboard M10 (tbc) Result: Integration of EOSC-hub and OpenAIRE AAI Message: single sign-on across EOSC-hub and OpenAIRE services Researchers can now access services across e- Infrastructures with their preferred log in. No need to log in with a different system for every service.

  14. Webinars Researchers: Find and use the best combination of services to create and implement a Data Management Plan Researchers: Skills improvement, agile career development Research Infrastructures: Showcasing examples of joint use of EOSC-hub and OpenAIRE-Advance services in ELIXIR, DARIAH, EPOS,.. Ambassadors : Training on the EOSC-hub and OpenAIRE-Advance service portfolio

  15. Other Dissemination Short videos to beneficiaries to illustrate value and benefit Classic avenues: materials, conferences, events, joint presence Outreach: Mobilising our European Networks

  16. Next 12 Months: Priorities Make a concrete roadmap for Year 1 Refine and repeat Inline with EOSC Roadmap 2018-20

  17. Questions

  18. Dissemination messages Research groups / RIs / ERICs / ESFRIs Researchers (aka, long tail of science) EOSC-hub offers compute, storage, data services OpenAIRE offers tools to manage Open scholarly communication practices, publishing, sharing, deposit, preservation, research in context and monitoring Making science more efficient, faster, better. The collaboration offers an integrated toolkit across the scholarly lifecycle to support research, from idea to publication, including skills and training.

  19. Dissemination messages Decision makers, funders EOSC-hub supports innovation, promotes growth OpenAIRE s tools monitor trends in policy, Open access output, research in context, impact overview. Integrating the services to generate and monitor impact will increase accountability and improve return on investment

  20. Dissemination messages SMEs / Industry Joint Innovation Hub (JIH), EOSC-hub WP9 Dissemination objectives: increase awareness of JIH; promote pilots Opportunities of expansion with OpenAIRE : Promote Zenodo, encourage FAIR data Mobilise National level contact with NCPs (contact with SME) to promote joint services to SME projects

  21. Dissemination messages Research Administrators & Managers Dissemination objectives: Simplifying reporting workflows, programme output overview, monitoring results. Show results of funder integration Opportunities of expansion with EOSC-hub: Encourage EC projects to use compute / storage resources and services from EOSC-hub (instead of buying clusters / compute time in Amazon, for e.g.)
