South Africa: Unity in Diversity and Rainbow Nation
South Africa, known for its motto "Unity in diversity," boasts a population mix of black, white, mixed race, and descendants of Indian people. Referred to as the Rainbow Nation, it features diverse landscapes with deserts, beaches, grasslands, and mountains. The country is rich in languages like Afrikaans, English, Ndebele, Pedi, Sotho, Swazi, and Tsonga. Contrasts between countryside homelands and cities highlight disparities in living conditions, with poverty-stricken areas mainly occupied by black South Africans. The capital cities of Bloemfontein, Cape Town, and Pretoria represent South Africa's judicial, legislative, and administrative functions respectively. Famous South Africans have made their mark, and the local currency is the Rand.
