Bachelors Degree REQUIRED Requirements Bachelor s degree or higher Submit your official college or university transcripts to the American Board Pass a standard background check. Exams Needed: Secondary Content Areas (9-12) Middle Level Content Areas (5-8) Pass the Professional Teaching Knowledge exam (PTK). Biology Middle Level Mathematics This exam will be taken on a computer and must be Chemistry Middle Level Language Arts completed at a Pearson VUE testing center. The exam English Middle Level Science will consist of 150 multiple choice questions and a Mathematics writing component. We suggest you take this exam Physics before your subject area exam Science Pass the ABCTE exam. This exam will be taken on a computer and must be completed at a Pearson VUE testing center. Bachelors Degree REQUIRED Requirements Bachelor s Degree with minimum GA of 2.5 U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization What are the requirements for a South Carolina initial teaching certification? Bachelors Degree REQUIRED Content Areas Early Childhood Program leads to certification in one year (four semesters). Elementary 4 graduate modules along with a work embedded teacher residency are the foundation of the program. Dance APEC Fellows receive coaching support and professional Middle Level development during their first three years of teaching.
