A network of IEEE volunteers and committees organized at the section and chapter levels with support from Regions and IEEE-USA PACE goals Promote the professional interests of U.S. members Provide a mechanism for communication of members' views on their professional needs 2

SoutheastCon 2016 Plan for New PACE Chairs 1. Get to know your section s past PACE Chair and previous PACE activities 2. Get to know the Region 3 PACE Coordinator (me) and your section officers 3. Assess professional interests of your Section and Chapter members 4. Explore the IEEE-USA PACE Website for available resources 5. Get familiar with funding options, forms and processes 6. Develop an activity plan for your first year 7. Recruit volunteers to assist with the activity plan 8. Execute, assess and review your first year s plan 9. Identify and train your replacement 9
SoutheastCon 2016 PACE Financial Resources I have money for your section! Section Funds PACE Chapter Funds PACE Region Funds Up to half the costs of your event up to $1500 PACE Committee Funds We want to give all PACE funds to the sections. 10
SoutheastCon 2016 Region Funding Process 1. Have an idea 2. Get Section approval to provide half the funds 3. Submit to Region PACE Chair (me) for approval 4. Conduct activity 5. File L31 report and Submit PACE report 6. Get money 11
SoutheastCon 2016 Funding Request and Report Forms Forms are available online https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/pace/funding.asp Forms are available in both Excel and pdf formats The PACE committee is in the process of simplifying the forms 12
What if you forgot to request funds in advance? I STILL want to give you money! Send me an email with the following information: Date of event Brief description of the event Income and expenses for the event Number of participants A link to the L31 report you filed for the event. If your event qualifies, I will pay for half your event net expenses! 13 3/20/2025
