Southern Gothic Genre is a sub-genre of the Gothic genre characterized by settings in the South, eccentric flawed characters, grotesque activities, irony, and social commentary. Magic Realism combines realistic events with surreal elements, portraying world views through others' eyes and experiences with the supernatural. It blurs the lines between the magical and ordinary, challenging linear time and causality.
