  2. Understanding your SPAG SPAG: Student Performance Assessment Graph Class Content Professional Component Functional Component Bloom s Taxonomy Comparison: First Half versus Second Half of the Test

  3. Making Sense of the SPAG: Test 2 Let s use the Class Content SPAG as an example. Step 1: Use the table on the left to see how many marks were given for each topic.

  4. Making Sense of the SPAG: Test 2 Step 2: Review how you did on each topic. Star the areas where you did well. Circle the areas where you did poorly.

  5. Making Sense of the SPAG: Test 2 Step 3: Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the remaining SPAG.

  6. Questions to Ask Yourself: Class Content What topics did I score well on? What topics did I score poorly on? Why did I do well in some areas (strengths) and poorly in others (areas that need improvement)? For example: Did I find the content more/less interesting? Did I find some content easier/harder than other content? Did I study that content first/last? Did I run out of time before I was able to study all the content? Other explanations?

  7. Questions to ask Yourself: Professional Component Given that the majority of questions are Assessment or Intervention, ask yourself: How did I perform on Assessment questions? How did I perform on Intervention questions? Do I understand the difference between Assessment and Intervention questions? Can I explain my performance?

  8. Questions to Ask Yourself: Functional Component Given that the majority of questions fall under Scientific or Communication knowledge, ask yourself: How did I perform on Scientific knowledge? How did I perform on Communication knowledge? How did I perform on the remaining areas? (Legal, etc.)

  9. Questions to Ask Yourself: Bloom s Taxonomy Given that the OIIQ Professional Licensing Exam is predominantly Apply and Analyze questions, ask yourself: How did I do on the simpler-level questions (Remember/Understand) versus more complex-level questions (Apply/Analyze)?

  10. Comparison or First Half and Second Half of Test Is there a difference between the two halves? Did I find one half of the test easier/harder than the other half? Was my performance affected by anxiety? Did I finish the test? Now that you have an overall sense of your performance on the test, look at how you did on the two halves of the test: Is there a difference between the two halves? If so, why do you think that is? I

Understanding Your SPAGS: Comparison Graphs Benefits: Provides information on areas where you have improved Helps you identify areas that still need improvement Pinpoints new areas of concern Offers you one indicator to measure the effectiveness of any changes you made to your study and test-taking strategies

Understanding Your SPAGS: Comparison Graphs Professional Component Look at the areas where you improved/did not improve (remember to consult the table for number of questions per grouping Assessment, Intervention, Continuity of Care) Pay particular attention to areas of concern from Test 1 for example, Assessment and/or Intervention questions

  14. Understanding Your SPAGS: Comparison Graphs Comparison First Half and Second Half of Test Does your performance differ from Test 1? If so, how do you explain this difference?

  15. Review of Completed Test Booklets Test 2 Overall: Did I finish the test? Did I leave many questions unanswered? Did I erase and/or change many answers?

  16. Review of Completed Test Booklets Test 2 For each question that you got wrong or lost marks on: Did I understand what was being asked? Did I know the content? Were there words that I was not familiar with or misunderstood? Did I use relevant information in the case to answer the question? Did I guess the answer? Was my answer clearly written? Was my answer vague or incomplete?
