  1. If blessed, why do they mourn? If they mourn, how can they be happy? Spiritual dichotomy (2 Cor. 6:10)

  2. Three Categories of Mourning Natural loss wealth, and life (Rev. 18: 11,15,19; Gen. 37: 34-35. Worldly wrong exposed - sorrow merely for unfavorable circumstances (2 Cor. 7:10). Godly falling short of God s glory failed in honoring my Creator Seek His forgiveness (2 Cor. 7:9, Rom. 3:23).

  3. Blessed Mourn - Comfort Mourn for my sin... David (Psm. 51:3,1-2, 8-9, 12) Mourn for the sin of others... Paul (2 Cor. 12:21, I Cor. 5:2) Comfort comes in God s forgiveness (Psm. 32:1, Rom. 4:6-8) Really? (Luke 7:37-38, 47-48, 50) Godly sorrow Repentance Forgiveness (2 Cor. 7:10, Jms. 4:8-10, Jer. 31:16)

  4. The WOE in this Beatitude Blessed are you who weep now - you shall laugh (Luke 6:21) Woe unto you who laugh now you shall mourn and weep (Luke 6:25, Matt. 13:41-42, Matt. 8:12)

  5. Connecting the dots of truth How can I rejoice in Heaven knowing that the ones I mourned over on earth never repented? God s Promise (Rev. 21:4) God s Perspective- Personal Responsibility (2 Kings 22:10-13,19-20; 2 Cor. 5:10)

  6. It is not that we will be self centered people in Heaven... We will be God-Centered people, focused on God s glory ... John 17:24
